Hobart, part of the ITW Food Equipment Group, is a recognized leader among commercial food equipment worldwide. The Hobart Food Machines division, located in Hillsboro, Ohio, is seeking a qualified Manufacturing Engineer Technician to join our team.
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer Technician will report to the Production Manager - Food Machines and provide essential support to the engineering function within production. This role involves working with mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems, assisting in the quality function, and supporting manufacturing operations such as machining, assembly, testing, and material handling. The technician will contribute to both existing product lines and new product launches by assisting engineers with various tasks.
Key Responsibilities
+ Implement productivity improvement projects resulting in improved manufacturing yields/efficiencies
+ Coordinate improvement efforts with plant maintenance department
+ Project Assistance: Assist in the planning, development, and coordination of project components, working as an individual contributor or as a member of a cross-functional team.
+ Documentation Support: Support the creation and development of engineering project documentation, including bill of materials, drawings, and specifications.
+ Prototyping & Testing: Help develop prototypes and execute test plans, collecting data for validation as required.
+ Issue Resolution: Assist in troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving routine engineering project issues.
+ Analysis & Design: Perform routine engineering analysis and support design efforts using established tools.
+ Project Execution: Support the engineering team in completing projects on time and within cost targets.
+ Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring product designs meet global customer requirements and regulatory codes.
Qualifications
+ Education & Experience: An Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience, with 2+ years of engineering-related experience.
+ Technical Proficiency: Understand and be proficient in common computer-related software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Collaboration: The ability to build relationships within the business and across the organization to facilitate project progress.
+ Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills are required, with the ability to prioritize and follow up on tasks.
+ Personal Attributes: Must be adaptable, flexible, and possess good organizational and task planning skills.
+ Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

+ Office, Lab, and Manufacturing environments.
+ PPE required: Steel toe shoes and eye protection are required in manufacturing and lab areas.
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, or stoop and use hands, arms and walk frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
