    **Salary** **Range** : $62,000 - $65,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

    Summary

    The Embedded Systems Security Lab within the Department of Computer Science seeks a **PostDoctoral Research Associate** to conduct fundamental research activities and participate in academic training.

     

    Primary functions of the Research Associate include: attending regular meetings with the faculty supervisor; reading academic papers; writing reviews of academic papers; creating research infrastructure; conducting data collection, statistical analysis, and data interpretation to evaluate scientific hypotheses; preparing academic papers for publication; attending conferences and workshops; preparing whitepapers and proposals for grant applications; presenting research outcomes orally; and mentoring student researchers. The position's key responsibilities are to interact with UCCS students and faculty in the Embedded Systems Security Lab and in the Department of Computer Science and to work on-site at UCCS to complete the position's primary functions.

    Essential Functions

    The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

    + (100%) Independent Research under the supervision of a principal investigator

    + Create and execute research plans to formulate research questions and scientific hypotheses, design solutions and research infrastructure capable of testing hypotheses, design and conduct experiments, analyze experimental results, and disseminate research outcomes and products.

    + Participate in collaborative research with the principal investigator and others as directed by the principal investigator.

    + Mentor students as directed by the principal investigator.

     

    This position is dependent on the availability of external grant funding. Funding is currently expected to last **three months.**

    Tentative Search Timeline

    + Priority will be given to applications submitted by: **May 25, 2025.**

    + Potential start date: **June 2025.**

    Qualifications

    + A PhD or its equivalent in Computer Science is required by the start date.

    + A proven track record of peer-reviewed academic publication in real-time systems is required.

    + A proven track record of open-source software development including contributions to the open-source Real-Time Executive for Multiprocessor Systems (RTEMS) is required.
