Job Summary:
Creates and transmits accurate daily linen orders to the designated laundry service to ensure departments are properly stocked. Checks and creates quality checks and standards for all linen orders. Delivers clean linen in accordance with ministry standards; collects soiled linen in accordance with ministry standards.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Creates and transmits accurate daily linen orders to the designated laundry service to ensure departments are properly stocked. Checks and creates quality checks and standards for all linen orders. Delivers clean linen in accordance with ministry standards; collects soiled linen in accordance with ministry standards.
+ Monitors and response to critical lows within the scrub dispensing process and assist in updating the dispensing station database.
+ Performs tasks in association with operating the following equipment: washers, dryers, irons, steamers, folders, and sewing machines.
+ Sorts laundry items by label and loads by beddings, surgical gowns, linens, etc. and begin the laundry process: load, add detergent, other cleaning agents and when necessary germicidal and disinfectant solutions; adjust water temperatures; after wash place in dryer; sorts and folds clean items into appropriate storage bins. Wraps linen for surgical packs accurately according to ministry guidelines.
+ Counts items to validate laundry lists. Documents any unusable textile items and generates reports to a supervisor.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Constant standing and walking.
+ Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
+ Frequent reaching and gripping.
+ Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
+ Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
+ Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
+ Occasional use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
+ Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
+ Rare crawling, sitting and keyboard use/data entry.
