    Description of Work Unit

    The Institute for Learning and Teaching ( TILT ) supports faculty, students, and staff in their efforts to enhance learning and teaching within the Colorado State University community. The Institute works to achieve its mission by providing direct support to faculty and students in several specific programmatic areas and by supporting collaboration across programs within the divisions of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Enrollment and Access. Direct support for faculty, staff, and graduate student instructors is provided through programs that strengthen professional development in areas related to learning and teaching, scholarly inquiry into learning and teaching, course design and development, and the University’s instructional technology infrastructure. Direct support for students is provided through peer learning programs and communities; engagement in undergraduate research and artistry; preparation for graduate and professional schools; academic and co-curricular engagement with communities beyond the University; orientation, transitions, and retention; and effective use of learning technologies.     Position Summary

    The STEM Program Coordinator for the Office for Scholarship and Fellowship Advising ( OFSA ) is responsible for coordinating and facilitating a broad range of projects and initiatives intended to advance the applicant success rate for CSU STEM students competing in nationally competitive scholarship competitions. Through these efforts, the Program Coordinator will help the Program Director efficiently and effectively manage and grow the University’s nationally competitive scholarship program.

    Position Minimum Qualifications

    + BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics ( STEM ) field.

    + One year of experience working with undergraduate programming and coordination.

    + Demonstrated experience supporting academic achievement for diverse and under-represented students and emphasizing equity in designing educational and faculty development programs.

    + Demonstrated experience working independently and creatively to coordinate program elements, resolve problems, and prioritize competing demands.

    + Demonstrated experience working with nationally competitive scholarship programs.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Graduate coursework in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field.

    + Three years of experience working with undergraduate programming and coordination.

    + Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills, presentation skills, and writing skills.

    + Demonstrated ability to contribute substantively to a collaborative, team-based culture, both in TILT and with CSU partners.

    + Ability to work effectively with college students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and carry out related administrative responsibilities in support of unit and institutional priorities.

    With guidance from the OSFA Program Director, coordinate campus scholarship competitions; plan scholarship events including information sessions, workshops, and other events; coordinate scholarship selection processes including committee structure and organization; facilitate student and guest outreach. Ensure institutional record-keeping of prospective applicants, applicants, and awardees. The coordinator will also identify gaps in current programming and research ways that CSU can expand programming to STEM students.
