Work Unit|Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories
Faculty and staff at the CSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories ( VDL ) are among the nation’s finest in their fields of expertise and offer comprehensive diagnostic services. The mission of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory ( VDL ) is to provide timely, accurate and pertinent animal disease diagnostic services and educational outreach to veterinarians, animal industries and animal interests. The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory will strive to meet the goals the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the University through research to develop new approaches to disease identification, investigation, prevention and through education of professional veterinary medical, graduate, and post-doctoral students.

Position Summary
This position works in conjunction with the VDL Accounting and Accounts Receivable teams. The primary workload will be in Accounts Receivable. Successful execution requires extensive communication, coordination, and collaboration. This position will be fiscally responsible for collaborating with clients for the collection of accounts receivable and other fiscal and administrative duties and documents. This position will support all Accounting functions and includes duties including, but not limited to, collections, bank deposits, recording payments and journal entries, posting to Accounts Receivable sub-ledger, managing cash and credit card payments and others. This position may be responsible for other accounting and administrative duties, including procurement, travel, inventory, and other administrative functions.
This position has essential employee status. Due to the nature of the department’s work, this is a fully in-person position located at the Diagnostic Medical Center, Fort Collins, CO.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; Colorado State University Diagnostic Laboratories will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Required Job Qualifications
+ High School Diploma (or GED )
+ Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
+ Demonstrated attention to detail and effective communication skills both verbal and written based on application materials submitted along with a desire to work with the public.

Essential Duties

Duty/Responsibility
This position will provide accounting duties in Accounts Receivable and general accounting, including the following specific responsibilities:
+ Handle payment collections and collection data. Manage payment schedules.
+ Organize daily cash receipt journals, customer interactions for questions and account reconciliations and resolutions, and banking actions
+ Ensure work follows accounts receivable processes and procedures.
+ Maintain confidentiality of clients and financial matters.
+ Manage acquiring and recording diverse types of payments from customers.
+ Review and approve transactions and balances.
+ Reconciliation of Daily Sales downloads and uploads between subledger systems with appropriate documents for posting to official system of record.
+ Manage ACH payments, credit card payments, and use appropriate documentation, security, and record appropriately.
+ Assist in administrative duties which may include general accounting, procurement, purchasing, travel, cost accounting, inventory, and grants management duties.
+ Other accounting and business technical duties, as assigned.

Monday through Friday is typical schedule but rotation of holidays is required and occasional Saturdays needed., On-call Status - In the event of an emergency is declared by the Veterinary Diagnostic Lab Director, needed to meet NAHLN requirements, overtime work or work outside normal operating ours will be required.
