Description of Work Unit
Campus Recreation, an auxiliary unit in the Division of Student Affairs, provides wellness and healthy lifestyle oriented programs, events, and services to Colorado State University students and employees via seven programmatic areas: Student Recreation Center, Aquatics, Fitness, Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs, Outdoor Program, and Climbing Wall. Nine service units – Member Services, Business Office, Information Technology, Communications/Marketing, Facility Scheduling, Training and Development, Custodial Services, Equipment Management, and Maintenance – support the program functions to provide seamless customer service to CSU students, employees, and their families. Campus Recreation facilities, programs, and services promote a sense of community, support student development through leadership and employment opportunities, and encourage the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle to a diverse University population. Campus Recreation employs 32 career staff, up to 50 part-time staff, and 300+ student staff who are committed to providing a safe, welcoming space to CSU community members from all backgrounds and fitness levels. Position Summary
This position provides massage therapy services for up to 19 hours per week for Student Recreation Center patrons via appointment. The listed salary range shows the range for working 6 hours per week to working 19 hours per week. Hours worked are based on the combination of client demand and employee availability, capped at 19 hours per week.
Required Job Qualifications
+ Certification/Licensure
+ Certified/licensed by a nationally recognized, accredited body, such as National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork ( NCBTMB )
+ Licensure to practice massage therapy in the state of Colorado
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Certification/Licensure
+ Current membership in professional organization such as American Massage Therapy Association ( AMTA )
+ Experience
+ A minimum of 1 year experience as a licensed Massage Therapist
+ Experience and/or certification in neuro-muscular, deep tissue, or visceral techniques
+ Experience with clients/patients with orthopedic diagnosis
+ Experience completing medical records in SOAP note format
+ Experience working with a university population
+ Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, other Characteristics
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with policies of Colorado State University, state, federal, and HIPAA requirements
+ Ability to learn and effectively use electronic health records and web-based scheduling systems
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
+ Ability to reflect department and institutional values while advancing a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

+ Review and confer with clients about their medical histories and physical issues such as stress and/or pain location(s) to determine optimum massage techniques to apply for client’s benefit.

+ Based on client information and response to massage therapy, determine and communicate applicable guidance on restorative techniques to assist client in relaxation and improved physical functions.

+ Maintain appropriate clinical documentation on each client visit and consultation in written SOAP format.
+ Consistently uphold all Campus Recreation department policies and procedures for patron and employee management relation to position; critical thinking, problem solving within the limits of department policy and procedures, judgement to identify and apply existing guidelines, training, enforcement, and communication for employees.
+ Uphold service ethic, professional appearance standards, and Emergency Action Plan response.
+ Attend all staff meetings, trainings, and in-services as scheduled.
+ Perform massage suite pre- and post-appointment inspection, set-up, and clean-up; report all supply, maintenance, and other issues and concerns to supervisor.
