Hershey Medical Center is seeking a skilled and motivated Sterile Processing Manager to oversee the critical function of instrument sterilization and ensure excellence in perioperative services.

    About the Role:

    As a Sterile Processing Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting surgical services by managing sterilization workflows, leading a skilled team of technicians, and ensuring compliance with standards set by CBSPD, IAHCSMM, and AAMI. Your expertise in instrument processing, infection control, quality assurance, and team leadership will directly contribute to safe, high-quality patient care.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Oversee sterilization processes for surgical instruments and equipment (e.g., cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastics).

    + Ensure compliance with national sterilization and decontamination standards.

    + Lead, mentor, and support Sterile Processing and Supply Technicians.

    + Drive continuous improvement initiatives in instrument tracking and surgical supply chain management.

    + Monitor department performance and partner with surgical teams to ensure seamless operations.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Three (3) or more years of related experience in a similarly complex surgical services environment.

    + Experience should demonstrate thorough knowledge of effective sterilizing techniques and experience in processing variety of surgical instruments used in services such as cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, pediatrics, genitourinary and plastic surgery.

    + Demonstrated effective organizational, communication and leadership skills.

    + CRCST and CHL or CIS / CST (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician, Certified Health Leader, Certified Instrument Specialist, Certified Surgical Technologist)

    Preferred:

    + Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field.
