The Position:
The Justice Administrative Commission’s Accounting Section is seeking a Professional Accountant I to join our 9-member disbursements team. We hire for attitude and train for skills.
Our Agency :
The Justice Administrative Commission (JAC) is a small customer-oriented state agency that administratively serves Florida’s State Attorneys, Public Defenders, Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsels, Capital Collateral Regional Counsels, and the Statewide Guardian ad Litem Program. JAC assists these judicial-related entities perform their functions through the State’s accounting, budget, financial services, and human resources platforms. JAC also reviews and processes bills from private court-appointed attorneys and associated due process services vendors representing indigent individuals throughout Florida and ensures their compliance with Florida Statutes and JAC’s Contracts.
JAC is not an Executive Agency in the State Personnel System but offers the same benefits as other state agencies, including State Group Insurance and Retirement.
Job Duties :
To support employees, JAC offers multiple opportunities for professional growth, including participation in the Certified Public Manager program, Six Sigma, and other relevant training. JAC also prides itself on providing state of the art information technology service and equipment. Each member of the Accounting Section works together to support each other and to provide assistance to each other when needed. Below are a few examples of the primary duties for this position:
+ Auditing packages of invoices to assess that proper documentation is provided and that the information provided is payable under Florida Statutes
+ Processing payments in Flair using multiple transaction types
+ Auditing and processing travel payments in the Statewide Travel Management System (STMS)
+ Auditing and processing P-card approvals using P-card Works
+ Reviewing team members transactional reports for accuracy
+ Maintaining good communication and a great working relationship with the offices assigned to you

Pay:
The minimum salary for the selected candidate will be $42,000 annually.
Experience Requirements:
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with FLAIR, STMS, P-card Works and Microsoft Office Suite.
