The Disney Cruise Line (DCL) Finance Team is responsible for supporting and managing all aspects of the financial, planning and analysis and business decision support for DCL. DCL is a fast paced, dynamic business that is part of Disney Signature Experiences, an entrepreneurial growth engine for the Disney Experiences segment.
This role will specifically support ongoing Finance transformation for the DCL Finance team, with a focus on the development and sustainment of a centralized Finance reporting hub. This hub will support FP&A processes and key metrics to inform leadership decisions using Data Visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
Responsibilities:
+ Work closely with DCL Finance teams globally to understand data challenges and reporting needs and prioritize development across the DCL finance organization.
+ Work closely with external partners to identify, maintain and expand data pipelines that feed the Data Visualization tools
+ Partner to design, develop, and implement a DCL data strategy to centralize data within a single database, enabling clear metric reporting and dashboard visualization. Lead future database support and enhancements.
+ Serve as a subject matter expert, in partnership with DX Finance Transformation, on tools shaping the future of Finance, including Snowflake, Tableau, Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), Power BI, Power Apps, Smartsheet, etc. and develop these skills across the DCL Finance organization
+ Communicate regular project updates to all key DCL stakeholders, including Finance and global DCL Operations Senior Executive leadership
+ Responsibility for researching and integrating cutting-edge technology and processes
Basic Qualifications:
+ Demonstrated experience using sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions, particularly around structuring and organizing data to enhance accessibility, usability, and integration across systems
+ Ability to communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences, including Senior Executives
+ Proficiency in acquiring, organizing, cleansing, and manipulating substantial data sources, ensuring data integrity and developing insightful visualizations
+ Expert skills in Microsoft Excel (including VBA)
+ Demonstrated experience in one or more scripting languages (SQL, Python, R, Alteryx, etc.)
+ Demonstrated ability for storytelling through data, e.g. large-scale data integration and data visualization to facilitate acceptance and execution among leaders
+ Hands-on experience with one or more data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
+ Understanding of key profit drivers and trends and ability to build meaningful visualizations that inform business decisions and strategy
+ Self-motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced, results driven, challenging environment
+ Strong advocate for change with experience challenging existing processes and implementing process improvements
+ Ability to evaluate processes and distinguish between symptoms and root causes
+ Excellent organizational, analytical, written and communication skills and strong attention to detail
+ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 5+ years of work experience in statistical, business analytics, data science, and/or strategy development
+ Experience with analyzing data and creating data visualizations
+ Minimum 3 years of business intelligence development experience
+ Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Econometrics, or other quantitative fields
Required Education:
+ BA required – BA in a quantitative discipline is preferred
