Job Overview:
APTIM is hiring a fulltime Geomatics Survey Manager in either our Tampa, FL, Boca Raton, FL, or Baton Rouge, LA offices. The position will manage a survey team of professionals, assigning and maintaining staff and survey equipment, project, and program management, involve collecting, processing, analysing, and interpreting both multibeam and single beam sonar, as well as other conventional land-based survey activities. Additionally, responsibilities will include assisting the geophysics and geologic departments with assigning staff and hydrographic data collection, processing, interpretation, and product development for our geophysical and geotechnical survey projects. The employee will assign and manage staff and equipment assets to internal and external client projects, set and maintain project and deliverable timelines, use data to prepare hydrographic, engineering, geological and geohazard maps, technical and scientific reports and presentations for clients, regulatory agencies, facilities siting, foundation-design and a variety of other engineering applications in a team setting, and lead a diverse team of survey professionals. The candidate must be willing to travel and be able to adapt to challenging offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
+ Participate in business development activities, manage client relationships, write proposals and both prepare/present selection, technical and conference presentations.
+ Working with business line leaders, develop and implement a broad business development strategy to grow the Geomatics service line.
+ Serve as mentor to survey staff to seek continuous improvement though implementation of lessons learned and constructive annual performance evaluations.
+ Work collaboratively and proactively with a diverse group of program directors, project managers, engineers and scientists on various project needs.
+ Perform project and program management activities in a managerial role being responsible for scope, budget and schedule working in close coordination with project team, subconsultants and clients.
+ Design, manage and contribute to field programs and field data analysis.
+ Be willing to take on growth assignments and develop into front-line leadership within the service line.
+ Maintain an entrepreneurial spirit and look for opportunities outside of general areas of practice.
+ Act as Professional Surveyor of Record for a variety of coastal and marine topographic and/or hydrographic survey projects.
+ Responsible for overseeing and managing the collection, processing, interpretation of multibeam and single-beam sonar data.
+ Develop project plans, specifications, analyses, evaluations, maps, procedures, and reports.
+ Manage office and field projects from planning, execution, logistics, team management, data processing, deliverable development, and overall general safety.
+ Ensure conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures.
+ Development of plans, specifications, analyses, evaluations, maps, position papers, procedures and reports.
+ Communication of technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, reports, etc. via oral presentations. Working in combination with GPS, geophysical (chirp sub-bottom, sidescan sonar, magnetometers, etc.) and geotechnical (vibracores, surface grab samplers, etc.) equipment
Basic Qualifications:
+ Licensed Professional Surveyor, preferably in Florida and/or Louisiana, with ability to seek additional state licensure as needed.
+ Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in hydrography, geomatics, geology, geophysics, geological oceanography, or related field of study.
+ Must have strong leadership, communication, organizational, and technical/scientific writing skills.
+ Experience with multibeam sonar survey design, implementation, data collection, data interpretation, product development, and reporting.
+ Marine hydrographic data interpretation experience using Hypack.
+ Experience with ArcGis, AutoCAD, Surfer software is preferred.
+ Works independently with minimal guidance. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
+ Has expertise in own discipline. Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
+ Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies solutions to nonstandard requests.
+ Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or services in own discipline.
+ Monitors and controls costs within own work and Team's work.
+ Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities in own area.
+ Explains difficult issues and works to establish consensus.
+ Promotes teamwork; coaches and guides others.
+ Typically has 10-20 years relevant experience.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $120k to $150k. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
