    Job Summary:

    Vanderbilt Health - Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Director of Admissions, Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital.

     

    The Director oversees and directs the complete admissions process and patient flow within the entity, ensuring efficient operations, high-quality patient care and adherence to regulations, while developing and implementing objectives and strategies to drive admissions, smooth patient flow between entities, and meet pillar goals and financial targets. Provides leadership to admission staff while cultivating an organizational culture (both within and across departments) that provides a safe, satisfying, and enriching environment. Provides guidance and expertise on patient demands and needs.

    Department Summary:

    The Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital (VPH) was founded as a psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents. The hospital has expanded its services and now provides services for children, adolescents, and adults. Residents in their PGY 1 and PGY 2 year spend time on each of the following acute inpatient units: Child, Adolescent, General Adult, Psychotic Disorders, and Addiction. Outpatient services include Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Develops and implements departmental strategies aligned to institutional policies and goals.

    + Ensures effective execution of admissions processes.

    + Improves delivery of patient care by integrating admissions procedures with other care staff, including working with various departments across the institution and enterprise.

    + Defines and achieves financial targets in support of business and institutional goals.

    + Prepares annual operating budget for the department, including direct labor, material and supplies, services, equipment maintenance and replacement.

    + Creates and exceeds service standards utilizing key service dimension and from knowledge of patient/customer expectations and best practice.

    + Models behavior consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the enterprise through leading, coordinating projects, innovation, initiating improvement, and developing new programs.

    + The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned as needed.

    Basic Qualifications

    + Bachelors Degree

    + 5 years experience (Required)

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master’s prepared (MBA, MHA, Social Work, etc.)

    + 7 years experience

    + Background in Behavioral Health leadership

    + 3 years direct experience in admissions functions within a behavioral health facility

    + COMPLIANCE (Intermediate): Understands the rules, regulations, sanctions and other statutory requirements, guidelines and instructions relating to governing bodies and organizations, both internally and externally.

    + LEADERSHIP (Advanced): Motivates and inspires others to perform at a high level. Communicates in a positive and constructive way, demonstrating an enthusiasm for team and unit goals.
