Some of what you'll be doing:
As a Senior Building Information Modeling (BIM) Technology Specialist, you will act as a technical specialist on internal BIM projects within the Aviation Division, providing project model development supporting standards compliance and adherence to workflow protocols while ensuring quality of models and data for projects and operations. You will also collaborate with stakeholders and the Port-wide BIM team to create, develop, and actively manage the interdisciplinary models to support new facility design and development, further asset management, and provide accurate as-built information.
+ You will lead initial aviation internal project BIM meetings including modeling services, drawings, renderings, and system guidance. You will also provide technical expertise to organize and execute internal BIM projects in accordance with BIM standards and best practices, from design through construction to operations.
+ You will act as an Aviation stakeholder on the Port’s BIM team.
+ You will provide guidance to stakeholders and expense project consultants on processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency of BIM standards compliance.
+ You will conduct campus site analysis to generate, evaluate, review, and record existing and new site conditions to validate model data for all projects, and provide support with as-built record keeping.
+ You will develop models for expense projects at SEA and deliver to a centralized location to support maintenance of a single source of truth model, in coordination with the Port-wide BIM team.
+ You will collaborate with aviation stakeholders for extraction, coordination, and use of data in the models, including ongoing maintenance of aviation models to maintain up to date as-builts.
+ You will manage small scale interdisciplinary model development from initial project set-up through the life of the project.
+ You will support BIM Standard compliance for the Port, in the development of small-scale models, maintenance project models, and existing condition models. You will also perform compliance checks and provide guidance, training, and support for aviation staff.
+ You will collaborate with Aviation stakeholders for development of interdisciplinary models campus-wide in coordination with the Port-wide BIM team.
Who you are:
+ **Experienced** – You have five (5) years of design technology experience in the design and construction of major facilities using Revit or related software (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, etc.) within the building design industry.
+ **Desired** – We hope you have an Associate of Arts or certificate in design technology within the architecture, engineering, construction fields. We hope you have a Building Information Modeling Certificate.

+ **Knowledgeable** – You have knowledge of project management and are familiar with project delivery, contracting methods, and the full lifecycle of the built environment—from planning and design to construction and turnover. You understand design development, industry standards, public and alternative contracting methods, and construction documentation.
+ **Efficient Communicator** – You can clearly communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and can actively listen to, take input from, and provide clear, concise information to the team, peers, leadership, and stakeholders, considering their various perspectives.
+ **Analytical** – You possess critical thinking and judgement, including ability to define, analyze, and resolve issues.
+ **Proficient** – You have knowledge of translating 2D information and/or existing site conditions into 3D BIM models and knowledge with coordinate systems and datums. You can read and understand building and infrastructure design, contract, and construction documents, including as-built plans to integrate required data parameters into models to support asset management goals.
+ **Technically Skilled** – You have advanced knowledge and proficiency in multi-discipline design technology systems, including AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, Autodesk Docs, Navisworks, GIS and others. You also have proficiency with a variety of computer programs and programming languages, including Office 365, Teams, Bluebeam, Adobe, Dynamo, Python, C# and translating 2D information or site conditions into BIM.
What else you need to know:
+ **Work Schedule** – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.
+ **Work Environment** – You will primarily work in an office environment.
+ **Washington State Residency Requirement** – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
+ **Security Requirements** – As the successful candidate, you will/must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance. You will also be required to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Customs Seal within 30 days of hire.
