    Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the FIRE SUPPRESSION AND PREVENTION DIVISION of COMMANDER NAVY REGION HAWAII. Responsibilities You will assign work to junior firefighters or employees based on priorities, requirements, and capabilities. You will direct firefighters during structural, aircraft, and shipboard fire suppression and extinguishing. You will direct fire protection and structural firefighters during classroom and simulator training sessions. You will present fire protection and prevention education or training to employees. You will lead a crew of three or more firefighters assigned to staff a pumper, aerial ladder truck, or rescue vehicle in firefighting and rescue operations. You will write performance expectations for employees related to fire protections standards, deadlines, and procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Applying principles, practices, and techniques applicable to fire protection elements involving fire prevention, aircraft, structural, ordinance and shipboard firefighting; 2) Training personnel in fire protection and prevention; 3) Maintaining supply and material inventories to meet the needs of fire prevention functions; and 4) Providing the full range of supervisory functions (i.e. assigning work, recommending personnel actions, executing EEO procedures, etc.). NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for this position. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Officer II Fire Inspector I Fire Instructor I HazMat Incident Commander Airport Firefighter Emergency Medical Technician (issued by National Registry of EMTs) These certifications must have been awarded by DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all the above certifications and you have not attached copies of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
