RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of duties to maintain the flow of refuse and stream of recycling from The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC) to appropriate agents and remediation service providers. Assists in maintaining grounds and exterior hardscapes.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Essential: stooping/bending, seeing, hearing, lifting and carrying usual weight of 50 pounds. Frequent: standing, walking, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods of time, frequent gripping of an object. Occasional: sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, speaking, lifting and carrying weight up to 100 pounds; pushing/pulling weight up to 200 pounds. Operates a variety of vehicles, motorized equipment and hand tools: cars, trucks, forklift, mowers, power washer, compactors, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposed to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. Subject to noise and vibration while in compactor area and on forklift. Exposed to food and office waste.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education/Certification and Licensure:
1.Ability to speak, read, and write English.
2.Valid U.S. driver's license required in accordance with HI State law rules and regulations.
3.Motor vehicle driver's abstract reflecting evidence of good driving record required.
4.Ability to operate a variety of motor vehicles and forklifts required.
5.Knowledge of recycling preferred.
