Job Overview
Chop Machine Operator
Location - On Site: Dubuque, IA
Schedule: Full Time - Train on Days, will move into 2nd or 3rd shift.
Wage: $29.73/ hour
We are seeking a dedicated Chop Plant Operator to join a local Dubuque, IA production team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for processing gelatin byproducts—separating water, gelatin, and solids—to prepare materials for sale. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious and can train on days and move into a 2nd or 3rd shift position.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Operate and monitor equipment such as cookers and separators
+ Handle, chop, and process animal skins
+ Adjust pH levels and record production data
+ Package finished materials (50 lb. bags)
+ Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work areas
Requirements:
+ High School diploma or GED
+ 1–3 years of related experience or training
+ Ability to lift/move up to 50+ pounds and stand/walk for extended periods
Preferred:
+ Experience in manufacturing
+ Familiarity with material handling equipment
