    Overview

     

    Kimley-Horn's San Diego, CA office is seeking a Transportation Planner with 8+ years of experience to join their Transit team! This is an in-person, in-office position.

    Responsibilities

    + Be a leader in a growing, multidisciplinary transit practice.

    + Manage the planning, production, and delivery of transit projects, with a particular focus on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), and Passenger Rail.

    + Apply knowledge of concept development, performance evaluation, federal programs, funding sources, and community outreach to support the advancement of transit programs.

    + Assist clients with program management, capital planning, and policy development.

    + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution.

    + Effectively communicate directly with clients, community leaders, and agency staff to provide updates, propose recommendations, and address concerns or questions.

    + Foster the growth and professional development of junior staff.

    + Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

    + Maintain strong organizational skills and attention to quality.

    + Balance priorities among multiple projects to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

    + American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) license or Professional Engineering (PE), or ability to obtain within one year.

    + Minimum of 8+ years of transit-focused experience.

    Salary Range:

    $120,000 - $170,000
