Job Description:
The Cao at UT Dallas is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Technician to join our lab focused on molecular and developmental biology. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong background in biological sciences who are enthusiastic about contributing to cutting-edge research. The Cao Laboratory utilizes and develops cutting-edge single cell omics, genetic, imaging and bioinformatic tools to develop innovative models and investigate on lineages commitment, cell type evolution and cell-cell interactions (e.g. Cao et al., Nature 2019; Lemaire et al., Science Advances, 2021; Chen et al., Plos Biology, 2022). Our research aims to elucidate gene regulatory grammar in embryogenesis and cancer development (please visit https://labs.utdallas.edu/caolab for more details).
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in one of the basic sciences; Two years experience in scientific or experimental research work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
+ The candidate should have a bachelor or master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Developmental Biology, or a related field.
+ Extensive hands-on experience with cloning, plasmid work, CRISPR , and reporter assays
+ Familiarity with Cre-LoxP systems or CRISPR /Cas9 and fluorescent imaging techniques is strongly preferred
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently, troubleshoot experiments, and maintain detailed records
+ Strong motivation, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive mindset are essential
+ Priority will be given to candidates who are considering pursuing a Ph.D. and have imaging experience
+ The candidates should have some experience in study design and/coordination.
