Summary ** Announcement amended 5/23/2025 to extend closing date** About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Scott AFB Outdoor Recreation. This is a Flexible position 0-40 hours per week Responsibilities Effectively operates, repairs, and performs routine maintenance throughout the season to ensure facilities and equipment is maintained in serviceable condition. Cleans and stores equipment in designated locations, changes oil and drains gas from equipment and ensures good working order before re-issue. Maintains cleanliness and order in the repair and storage area. Performs general maintenance of boats, campers, lawn equipment, inflatables, electric/gas powered motors, and other recreational equipment. Properly prepares power equipment for winter storage, such as draining water systems and cleaning interior. Properly prepares trailers/boats for summer use in a timely manner, i.e., checks and repairs as necessary electrical and plumbing connection/components, repacks wheel bearings, change tires and other repairs as required. Charges and stores batteries for use with campers and other recreation equipment. Assists in establishing maintenance schedules for Outdoor Recreation Equipment. Monitors and maintains parts inventory levels. Conducts periodic inventories of repair parts. Notifies supervisor when parts inventory falls below specified levels. Maintains all documents. Employee performs day-to-day duties independently. Work is reviewed for overall, efficiency, timeliness, and quality of maintenance, operation, and repair. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have practical knowledge of recreation equipment and its use. Must have the skill and knowledge required for trouble shooting, repair, and maintenance of lawn equipment, trailers, campers, boats and camping equipment, electric and gas-powered motors and other recreational items. Binding manufacturer's certification training is desirable. Must have knowledge of Microsoft programs. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds, and able to occasionally life and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Education This position not allow for education substitution. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
