    Job Summary

    Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs. We are currently looking for an experiencedTransport Driver out of our Tonawanda, NY facility. This is a seasonal position. The shop/base rate for this position is $20/hour. The transport rate for this position is $28.50.

    Main Responsibilities

    + Haul asphalt based emulsion and or hot oil throughout New York State

    + Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of assigned commercial motor vehicle: This requires climbing up, on and over unit to verify everything is in proper working order.

    + Transport various pieces of construction equipment to multiple job sites across New York and occasionally Pennsylvania

     

    Qualifications and Physical Requirements

     

    + Must have a valid Class A CDL with Airbrakes and Tanker Endorsement required; HazMat Endorsements preferred

    + Must have a good driving record

    + Minimum 1-2 years of experience preferred

    + Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

    + Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

    + Regularly required to climb in and out of vehicles and/or equipment

    + Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

    + Regularly required to stand and walk across uneven terrain

    + Frequent exposure to loud noise

    + Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles, exposure to high temperatures

    + Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals

    + Occasional travel with overnight stays away from home may be required
