The Lilly Professional Apprenticeship Program is a 13-month (fixed duration employee) program for people without a 4-year degree. As a Lilly Professional Apprentice, you will receive a combination of formal training, on-the-job learning, and mentoring in a key functional area to be equipped to compete for a Lilly position after successful completion of the apprenticeship. Upon successful completion of the program, apprentices will have the opportunity to advance their careers, including consideration for full-time positions at Lilly.
The Delivery, Device and Connected Solutions (DDCS) organization within Eli Lilly and Company is responsible for the design, development, and commercialization of drug products and pharmaceutical delivery systems, including medical devices and container closure systems. The DDCS group is seeking a qualified candidate to support 3D printing, Computer Aided Design (CAD), and machine shop operations. Additionally, this position will provide routine assistance for the Irma Bolt Tella (IBT02) device assembly line operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Assist in developing fixtures and work with third parties to deliver components and prototypes on time.
+ Support prototype and design services for other company functions such as marketing, research laboratories, and manufacturing.
+ Operate machine tools and fixtures to achieve reproducible results for device assembly and testing.
+ Assist in coordinating a model shop capable of producing quick-turn device prototypes, assembly tools, and test equipment with machine tool operation, 3D printing and CAD design.
+ Provide basic technical support for mechanical issues in manufacturing and development at various Lilly and vendor sites.
+ Support 3D printing and printing services for multiple departments throughout Lilly.
+ Support the workload of prototype production and CAD design to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and on time by assisting with machine tool operation, 3D printing, and CAD design.
+ Support all other work assignments in DDCS machine shop and device assembly labs.
+ Contribute to implementing a safe work environment for the machine shop.
+ Quality mind set and maintain right-to-operate metrics. Demonstrate engagement and employ a quality mindset in all endeavors by proactively identifying quality issues and communicating appropriately.
Minimum Experience Qualification Requirements:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Basic proficiency in the safe and efficient use of common machining equipment (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, etc.)
+ Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
Additional Preferences:
+ Demonstrated quality mind set.
+ Basic CAD design **,** machine tool operation and 3D printing experience.
+ Capable of carrying weight up to 40 pounds

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$14.61 - $40.87
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
