    We are seeking an enthusiastic entry-level Construction Materials Technician to join our team and test concrete for slump, density, and moisture within our laboratory. You will receive in-house training from experienced employees, ensuring you are well-prepared for your role.

    Responsibilities

    + Communicate effectively with the project manager, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives, and other stakeholders regarding construction site requirements, project details, and testing, observation, and inspection results.

    + Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.

    + Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in both written and digital report formats for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.

    + Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas to ensure optimal functionality and safety.

    + Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites as needed.

    + Adhere to strict safety standards at all times.

    + Provide clear documentation of findings and results.

    + Engage in progressively increasing roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.

    Essential Skills

    + Reliability and dependability in completing tasks.

    + Ability to work on-site in various weather conditions for extended periods.

    + Strong communication skills to facilitate effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.

    + An Associate's Degree in a relevant field.

    + Previous experience in Construction Materials Testing or Construction.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + ACI or other related certifications are highly desirable.

    + A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is a plus.

    Work Environment

    This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects throughout Kentucky, providing valuable experience for career growth towards roles like Project Manager or Geotechnical Engineer. You will start your day by reporting to the Shelbyville office, then travel to project sites in a company truck, which you may drive independently in the future. The role involves day travel only, with transportation provided. You will be working predominantly outdoors, utilizing equipment provided by the company.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
