A Brief Overview
The Underwriter will review, analyze and approve credit terms and credit limits to potential and existing commercial customers on applications presented by the Opco Sales Force at projected KPI levels. Conduct regularly scheduled financial reviews of existing common ownership and multi-unit concepts with large dollar A/R balances.
What you will do
+ Approve credit terms and credit limits to potential and existing customers in accordance with established policy and procedures.
+ Review completeness of submitted Credit Applications to ensure all sections are completed, signed and dated as required by the authorized individuals of each potential customer.
+ Review personal credit reports and business credit reports as a component to determine creditworthiness.
+ When applicable, request, review, and analyze YTD and previous fiscal year ending financial statements as a component to determine credit worthiness.
+ Conduct credit reference checks with major suppliers as a component to determine creditworthiness.
+ Approve terms and credit limits on new accounts
+ Maintain awareness of State and Federal regulations affecting credit approval practices.
+ Prepare written Credit Evaluations on potential and existing customers and present findings and make term and credit limit recommendations to Senior Management.
+ Act as a resource to Opco staff to facilitate smooth onboarding of customers and make credit limit and term recommendations to Corporate Director of Credit and Senior Leadership Team on material accounts.
+ Work with Opco Credit Management staff on term change requests for existing customers and collaborate with Corporate and Opco Tax Departments to ensure appropriate tax documentation is obtained.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalency Required
• 1-3 years of Credit Approval experience preferably in the Food Service Industry Required
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
• Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines as assigned.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) required.
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to make effective presentations to a variety of employee groups
• Foodservice/distribution experience
