Your impact

We’re seeking a highly motivated, curious and creative individual to join Jacobs’ [1] Operations Management and Facilities Services (OMFS) practice as a Communications Specialist. Our ideal teammate will produce creative and impactful communications, content and client publications for an array of channels and mediums. The teammate will collaborate with leaders, subject matter experts and a global communications team to create content that effectively supports our business priorities and pushes the limits of what’s possible. This position requires an understanding of basic marketing and communications concepts, as well as an ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

The role will report to the OMFS Marketing and Communications Manager and partner across the OMFS Communications team as well as Global Communications to drive the brand forward on key initiatives.

Role and responsibilities

• Manages internal and external award program, including ownership of program strategy, award calendar, brainstorms with project teams, overall production and employee recognition.

• Leads content development for our internal digital news platform, ensuring the content is engaging, relevant and provides timely updates to our workforce.

• Writes and edits copy for internal and external client-facing deliverables, including project annual reports, client presentations and related sales-support materials.

• Contributes to internal and external communications, including internal newsletters and magazines, the company website and more.

• Assists with the development of social media content to support communication activities.

• Embraces OMFS’ authentic culture and identifies opportunities to advance our vision to make a real-world impact for our clients, communities and our teams nationwide.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or related field preferred.

• 2 to 4 years of experience in marketing, communications or related field.

• Maintain a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and consistency.

• Strong project management skills and the ability to take initiative, plan and prioritize in order to successfully complete projects.

• Strong writer and familiar with journalistic (AP) style.

• Effective communicator both orally and in writing, with the ability to adapt tone and style to different audiences and formats.

• You remain up to date with current trends in digital media and have experience in coordinating social media content creation.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

• Excel at relationship building and effectively working across teams.
