Our values (https://ouraring.com/about-us) guide how we show up for each other and our community every day.

We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our Supply Chain team in San Francisco, California. In this role, you are located at the crossroads of Oura Manufacturing, R&D, and Supply Chain. You will work alongside our design teams and process engineers, facilitating the development and eventual ramp of NPI programs, supporting the mission critical goal of developing high quality components and assemblies which are both manufacturable and scalable.

Job requirements include setting up quality systems at suppliers to ensure good data is collected and analyzed for program critical decision making as well as creating long term strategies to help continuously improve the Oura Supply Chain. You will plan, develop and implement measurement methods, control plans, and other supply quality engineering processes to help ensure the part and product quality - all the way from concept phase through high volume mass production in a complex, global scale supply chain. You will be a liaison between the suppliers and designers, championing a culture of quality on behalf of Oura and our customers.

You'll collaborate closely with our operations team and program managers to plan and execute each NPI build, while also shaping and refining both the process and the product. A strong background in manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing (DFM) is essential for success in this role.

    What you will do:

+ Support New Product Introduction (NPI) through development builds, ramp-up, mass production, and steady state expansion efforts

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, design, and operations, to drive Oura's supplier quality engineering initiatives

+ Develop and implement scalable manufacturing processes, quality systems, and yield improvement strategies

+ Lead build readiness reviews, focusing on quality deliverables such as equipment readiness, process qualification, and post-build quality data analysis to facilitate component design and process improvements

+ Identify and effectively communicate design and process risks, using data-driven approaches to facilitate discussions and improvements across Oura teams and suppliers

+ Analyze and evaluate data to establish appropriate component spec limits including cosmetic, dimensional, functional/reliability as well as establish process controls limits

+ Scale up suppliers and processes to meet production goals, including yield targets, line capacity (UPH), process capability (CPK), and other equipment and headcount requirements

+ Conduct supplier audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance

This is a US Hybrid role located in the San Francisco Metro Area, candidates must be in-office 3 days per week.

    Requirements

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

+ 7+ years of experience working in a Supplier Manufacturing, Manufacturing Quality Engineer, or Process Engineer role. Ideally seeking someone with strong mechanical process development and design understanding

+ Experience working with final assembly factories and mechanical enclosures and/or electronics suppliers

+ Experience in supplier quality engineering in high volume hand held / wearable and/or consumer products with high cosmetic standards

+ Experience qualifying and auditing manufacturing processes including CNC and lathe fabrication, injection molding, and coatings/surface treatments (anodization, PVD, and soft touch)

+ Understanding of quality principles and tools such as GRR, SPC, FA/CA, 8D, and DOEs.

+ Understanding of manufacturing principles and tools such as DFM, SOP, GD&T, Six Sigma, and LEAN manufacturing principles

+ Self-driven and eager problem solver who thrives in demanding quick-paced environments

+ Highly organized with the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts through presentations and written communication, such as slide decks and email

+ Able to set up systems to capture reliable and meaningful data to help drive critical process improvements and enhance product/component design.

+ Willingness to travel to domestically and internationally up to 40%
