JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Repair Technician role is responsible for durable medical equipment repair.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Repairs and maintains all oxygen and durable medical equipment such as oxygen concentrators, liquid oxygen systems, nebulizers, suction machines, and CPAP's.
+ Also performs most complex repairs and maintenance on HME equipment.
+ Ensures equipment is repaired in an efficient and timely manner to maintain adequate levels of stock in warehouse.
+ Maintains patient ready stock levels and orders necessary parts.
+ Ensures both group and individual productivity standards are met.
+ Makes recommendations on performance appraisals, selection, promotion, merit increases and employee discipline.
+ Ensures that all technicians are properly trained and monitors all aspects of their job function, including attendance, safety, appearance, and productivity.
+ Ensures quality of work is compliant with JCAHO, FDA and Apria Healthcare policies and procedures.
+ Maintains accurate files of all repairs made and all parts and equipment ordered.
+ Assigns, directs work, and coaches staff.
+ Schedules and organizes work assignments and service training
+ Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.
Education and/or Experience
+ Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
+ At least five years related experience is required
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Computer Skills
+ Computer savvy with: MS Excel, MS Office.
Language Skills
+ English (reading, writing, verbal)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. It also may require occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching above the shoulder.
