We currently seek to fill the role of Mechanical Assembler on first shift (M-TH or T-F 6 AM to 4:30 PM) to machine component parts to pre-determined dimensions and tolerances while staying within assigned router hours, all while advancing KBC's mission of being a forward-thinking, collaborative, and ethical business.
Responsibilities
+ Drills, taps, reams, chases, and cleans holes.
+ Deburrs small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts.
+ Aligns components and fastens them together.
+ Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test free movement.
+ Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic systems.
+ Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears.
+ Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.
+ Plans assembly procedures and methods to assure efficient and timely progress. Inspects parts for proper machining finish and dimensions; check and test subassemblies and units.
+ Works from complicated and detailed drawings, specifications, and assembly drawings.
+ Keep a safe and clean work area, including machinery, tools and equipment, and the shop area in general.
+ May perform other duties as needed, such as blasting and painting component parts or assemblies.

+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED required).
+ This position requires the knowledge of standard tools, materials methods, and practices required in assembling product.
+ Also required is the ability to read and interpret blueprints, read precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, calipers, tape measures, etc.), and operate a forklift and overhead crane.
+ Must be able to read and write simple correspondence.
+ Should have the ability to maintain machinery, equipment, and tools used in assembly.
+ Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally; anything over 50 pounds requires two people, or the use of a lifting device.
