Pay & Benefits

+ $21 - $39 per hour, based on experience

+ $1,500 SIGN-ON BONUS!

+ Monday – Friday, night shift (No weekends!)

+ $6,240 annual shift premium ($3/hr) for 2nd shift

+ 3 weeks PTO starting day one!

+ Paid weekly

+ $1,200 annual tool allowance

+ $200 annual boot allowance

+ $1,200 annual CDL A or B stipend

What You’ll Do

+ Diagnose and repair tractor issues on Freightliner (mainly), Kenworth, and International trucks

+ Perform preventive maintenance, electrical diagnostics, air brake repairs, suspension and steering fixes, after-treatment work, charging system and AC repairs

+ Accurately categorize repairs per company standards: PM, component failure, abuse, accident, and operations

+ Keep detailed, precise records of parts used and repairs performed — including scanning bar codes and documenting warranty-related repairs

+ Follow safety procedures to ensure a secure work environment

+ Provide clear and professional communication with drivers and fleet managers

+ Stay current on industry technology and repair techniques through ongoing education

+ Collaborate and assist fellow technicians when needed

+ Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

+ 1-2 years of fleet maintenance experience or Technical School degree preferred

+ Certifications like EPA 609, Daimler, Cummins, or Navistar preferred

+ Experience with DTNA, Cummins Insite, Bendix systems a plus

+ Proven skills in repair, maintenance, and diagnostics on Class 8 trucks — including warranty work and onboard electronics

+ CDL A or B preferred but not required

+ Valid Driver’s License required

+ Strong English communication skills (speaking, reading, writing) essential for success

Hirschbach is seeking Tractor Mechanics at our East Dubuque, IL shop! At Hirschbach you will complete preventative maintenance and minor repairs on one of the newest and fully featured fleets. Come join our talented team of Mechanics!
