Northrop Grumman Weapons Business Unit** is currently seeking a **Sr.** **Staff Engineer – System Performance (IPT Lead) (** **T06** **)** for our Advanced Programs Software, Modeling, and Simulation team in **Northridge, CA.
This role is to lead the Performance IPT for the Stand-In Attack Weapon (SiAW) program. This IPTL will be responsible for system performance in upcoming flight test and future production. This key role will be responsible for identifying and managing performance metrics and quantifying them through both simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing. The role will also be responsible for discovering, documenting, and managing performance risk throughout the test process and working burn-down plans with software and hardware engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities may include:
+ Lead a cross-discipline team of engineers executing all across the portfolio to ensure delivery of the missile systems per program plans
+ Lead the design of the missile via System Performance Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis
+ organization (Guidance, Navigation, embedded software, seekers, Systems Engineering, and requirements flow down)
+ Influence the design of the system, establishing performance focused processes, and increase alignment across program leadership, office of the chief engineer, and IPTs
+ Experience with major missile subsystems
+ Experience with evaluating missile performance and operability, including analysis, operability envelopes, subsystem/component analysis and test data assessment
+ Experience managing and/or leading cross-disciplined teams in a technical capacity
+ Interact and coordinate with customer community stakeholders
+ Lead the execution of all assigned work scope, determine the allocation of personnel within the team to perform that work, and review and approve any contract deliverables before delivery to the program stakeholders
+ Work within agile framework to lead development of backlogs, plans, and metrics
+ Support continuous improvement of people, processes, and tools
+ Identification, establishment and implementation of best practices and lessons learned
+ Utilize agile development methods, automation, and continuous integration
+ Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and/or Risk and Opportunity Management to identify issues and develop recommended courses of action to management
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Staff Engineer – System Performance (IPT Lead) (** **T06** **)** **are:
+ 14 Years with Bachelor’s in relevant field of study, 12 Years with Masters, 10 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
+ U.S. Citizen and an **Active DoD Secret** with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
+ Demonstrated technical leadership and team management skills.
+ Effective oral and written communication skills, including expertise in executive-level communication.
+ Proven abilities in SW metrics, schedule planning, and technical scope execution, utilizing Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
+ Demonstrated performance in aligning and driving execution, managing flight- or safety-critical embedded software teams.
+ Experience validating requirements for flight performance using Simulation, Software-In-The-Loop, Computer-In-The-Loop, and Hardware-In-The-Loop testing
+ Experience documenting and managing risk
+ Experience with test anomaly documentation and executing processes for resolution
+ Experience supporting flight test with TRR documentation, telemetry analysis, replication in simulation, and resolving anomalies
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Strong understanding and practical experience with Software DevOps
+ Experience deriving subsystem requirements from system performance level requirements
+ Experience as an IPT lead of a missile in the development phase
+ Knowledge of RF Threat Modeling, of Electronic Attack techniques and modeling, guided missile design
+ Knowledge of any of the following simulation frameworks: AFSIM, Suppressor, Brawler, JWS, AJEM, ESAMS
+ Familiarity with Agile, MBSE, and / or system architecture frameworks

Salary Range: $188,200.00 - $282,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
