    Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer. We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer based out of Orlando, FL. As a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Cross-Domain Handling of Releasable Data (CHORD) portfolio. CHORD is a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) two-domain Cross Domain Solution (CDS). The CHORD portfolio comprises multiple contract awards and with various customers. The successful candidate will be exceptionally meticulous, collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & personal responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of seeking the best performance from everyone.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    + The Principal Cyber Engineer Systems will maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.

    + Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

    + Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

    + Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field and 5 years of related technical experience; Master’s degree in a STEM field and 3 years of related technical experience, or PHD in a STEM field and 1 year of related technical experience

    + Active DoD Secret Clearance

    + Current DoD 8140 Certification IAT Level II or higher (Security+, CISSP, etc.) or ability to obtain one within 6 months

    + Solid understanding security vulnerability scanning and remediation in accordance with STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, and industry best practices

    + Demonstrated experience working with security frameworks, specifically NIST 800-53

    + Demonstrated experience communicating effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal or external customers, in written and oral formats.

    + Demonstrated experience developing and documenting security processes and procedures

    + Demonstrated ability to work within strict timelines and make sound decisions with limited information

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Computing environment certification (Linux preferred)

    + Demonstrated experience working with CMMC compliance

    + Demonstrated experience implementing security automation using tools like Tines or Ansible

    + Demonstrated experience analyzing and implementing security changes to maintain and improve the overall system security posture

    + Develop and maintain security auditing dashboards as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).

    + Experience with encryption and hashing algorithms, including implementing, and maintaining digital code signing

     

    Salary Range: $104,800.00 - $157,200.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
