    Overview

     

    The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) is seeking an Occupational Therapists to promote optimal level of function for the health and safety of toddlers with developmental disabilities and those who are eligible for Cuyahoga DD services through various appropriate therapeutic techniques within guidelines as established by Ohio laws and rules of practice and professional codes of ethics and philosophy of Cuyahoga DD. **This assignment will be in Early Intervention (ages birth to 3 years). T** he nature of work will include, but is not limited to the following:

     

    + Provide Occupational Therapy assessments using record review, interview, observation and selected assessment instruments as appropriate according to departmental procedures and in a variety of settings; including Cuyahoga DD sites and community.

    + Engage in collaborative consultation with team members, caregivers, families, and community agencies to assist in the development of recommendations for services and supports.

    + Provide Occupational Therapy services, including intervention, consultation, instruction, assistive technology, and support services as needed.

    + If assigned to work in the Early Childhood department, provide Occupational Therapy services in a teaming approach for children birth to three years old based on adult coaching in which one member is a primary service provider and receives supports from other team members.

    + Develop or assist in individualized programs, which may include functional mobility, positioning, handling, sensory motor, oral motor, fine motor, gross motor, modifications and fabrication of equipment, ADL, and instrumental activities of daily living.

    + Monitor and update individual client programs and maintain appropriate documentation.

    + Provide direction to the occupational therapy assistant as required by the occupational therapy licensure law.

    + Provide direction to the Equipment Assistant.

    + Participate in inter/intra-agency committees, in-service training, projects or teams as requested or approved by supervisor.

    + Provide in-services at Cuyahoga DD sites and/or other community settings.

    *** SALARY: The starting salaries for our OTs are covered in a Collective Bargaining Agreement (Union Contract). The starting salaries are based on education: MA: $65,000.00 and Doctorate $70,000.00.** There is some room for negotiations if an applicant brings extensive expereince to the position; however, the agency will also consider internal equity when determining salary offers.

    **Remote Work:** Our positions are not 100% remote. However, we do offer very hybrid work schedules that are flexible, allowing employees to make their own schedule within the expectations of the agency. Our Early Intervention positions do have to meet onsite regularly for team meetings, and most trainings and supervisory meetings are held in one of our four (4) facilities. This position has an assignment in eastern Cuyahoga County and will have a drop in desk at our Highland Hills, Ohio location.

    Qualifications

    + Licensed as an Occupational Therapist by the State of Ohio.

    + Specific training in developmental disabilities desirable.

    + Valid driver's license and a driving record that is insurable under the agency policy.
