+ Ability to teach Family and Consumer Science curriculum.

+ Possess competence in computer and technology skills.

+ Communicate with parents as appropriate and on a consistent basis.

+ Supervision and other duties as assigned.

+ Ability to supervise food labs and teach safety and sanitation.

+ Knowledge of the developing child.

+ Serve on one or more building or district committees such as collaborative teacher teams or Career and Technical education team.

+ Cooperate with and participate in building-based initiatives.

+ Recognition of the need for confidentiality with respect to student and parental rights and privacy as well as confidentiality of all conversation hard copy information.

+ Must be willing to support and implement multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for both academics and behavior.

+ Willingness to participate in the building-wide Collaborative Teacher Team process as a part of the Continuous Improvement initiative.

+ Willingness to implement building wide PBIS practices in support of building and district goals.

+ Flexibility in meeting the needs of all students and the school.

+ Willingness to work with technology as it relates to student and building needs.

+ Ability and willingness to work in a collaborative manner with teachers to meet the needs of students with special needs.

+ Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.

+ Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.

+ Able to work as a team member.

+ Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.
