    We’re seeking a highly skilled Finance Director to join our team. You will work directly with leadership and oversee the financial health of the Global Service and Repair P&L. Reporting directly to the VP Finance, Global Commercial Office, the Global Service and Repair Finance Director will serve as the finance business partner for the VP, Global Service & Repair. This role advises on strategic financial decisions, manages a high performing team and oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis. In partnership with the Global Service & Repair leadership team, the Finance Director will advance and execute on critical business priorities.

    A Day in the Life

     

    Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

     

    • Lead Service Revenue Forecasting - In close partnership with the Global Service & Repair leaders, inform and manage complex financial models to deliver long-range forecasts with ability to deliver scenario plan ‘what if’ analysis.

    • Provide business Insights to drive growth – A trusted partner to the Global Service & Repair VP who both challenges and supports the leader with sound financial council by applying strategic thinking and financial analytics to provide business insights, challenge business assumptions, drive fact-based decision making and enable growth in both revenue and operating income.

    • Inform Portfolio Financials and Valuations – Look after all aspects of commercial decision making, financial performance & reporting and financial controls. Deliver useful business insights through advanced analytics and data visualization capabilities.

    • Develop and Manage Operational Financial Forecasts – Lead the AOP and quarterly forecast process for the Global Service & Repair Organization, tying financial funding to business strategy and return, performing variance analysis, and leading trade-off decisions. Also partner with S&R team on strat planning process, specifically leading the financial modeling and creating the linkage with annual Business/AOP planning process

    • Drive Business Excellence - Champions innovation and develops financial framework and collaboration model that drive transformation efforts by conceptualizing and developing new approach to programs, product and services.

    • Optimize team performance and cross-functional partnerships – Enables the team to pursue possibilities that will create sustainable value and quality outcomes. Empowers the team with meaningful decision making and ownership. Creates a culture that emphasizes ongoing learning and development and encourages others to seek and learn from diverse perspectives. Focuses on driving continuous improvement and quality outcomes.

    • Develop Cost to Serve Capability across service value stream – partner with S&R teams to help develop Cost to Serve for each region for Contact Centers, Depots, Field Service, Commercial and CoE organizations within Service & Repair. Develop actionable insights for the team to pursue.

    Must Have: Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience.

    • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting and strategic financial planning

    • Strategic thinking and ability to translate business objectives into financial strategies

    • Excellent decision making, analytical, and problem solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with senior management and external stakeholders

    Nice to Have

    • Degree in Accounting/Finance • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA • Global Experience working in industry outside of United States • Medical Device, Healthcare or Pharma Industry experience • Ability to drive business transformation and process improvement initiatives

    Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$169,600.00 - $254,400.00

     

    This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

     

    This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

     

    The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

     

    The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

     

    The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

     

    Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
