    About Crisis Solutions Center (CSC):

    The Crisis Solution Center (CSC) Program is focused on stabilization, treatment, and referrals for up to 46 individuals at a time. The primary goal is to divert individuals impacted by mental illness and substance use disorders from hospitals and jails by providing a more appropriate therapeutic alternative. The program receives referrals from first responders across King County and hospital emergency rooms. The Crisis Diversion Facility (CDF) is a 16-bed state-licensed Residential Treatment Facility, and the Crisis Diversion Interim Services (CDIS) is a 30 bed “step-down” program which admits clients referred directly from CDF who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

    JOB DEFINITION:

    This role works as a member of CSC’s multi-disciplinary leadership team, consisting of program management, clinical and SUD supervisors, medical leadership and operations staff. The CSC Peer Supervisor oversees and coordinates all aspects of peer support programming, including collaboration with other program leadership, ensuring daily availability of peer support services, groups, and peer-led outings, and direct facilitation of peer services as needed. Knowledge of Recovery focused, strengths-based work in mental health. Through coaching and modeling, this role supports peer specialists in honing their skills in client engagement and forming peer partnerships, stepping up to support and engage clients on the milieu as needed. This is an active, people-centered role that supports both structure and flexibility in an environment that values connection, recovery, and dignity. Interested individuals should possess good time management, coordination, and training skills.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Program Management and Documentation Compliance (30%)

    + Steward all aspects of daily recovery groups and weekly peer-led outings (also known as Community Growth Experiences), including but not limited to collaboration of scheduling with other program leaders and securing transportation and tickets for activities.

    + Collaborate with project manager, program coordinator, and program assistant to ensure peer program is adequately stocked with the tools, resources and materials required to maintain robust peer-based programming.

    + Provide peer staff with the tools needed to help participants identify, understand, and combat stigma and discrimination associated with mental health concerns and substance use disorders and develop strategies to reduce self-stigma through client engagement and peer-led recovery groups.

    + Ensure Peer Specialist documentation is strength-based, accurate, and in compliance with Medicaid and agency standards.

    + Ensure peer support practices reflect recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, person-centered values.

    + Collaborate with leadership and culture building to integrate peer roles throughout programs.

    + Develop templates and ‘how to’ guides to improve quality of peer programming and ease of documentation.

    Leadership & Culture Building (10%)

    + Work in direct partnership with the CSC leadership team to implement DESC and CSC vision*, values, and principles of client care and promote integration among all CSC departments (medical, case management, peer, substance use).

    + Participate in individual clinical supervision with CSC project manager, weekly program/leadership meetings, and in-service training as required.

    + Work with the Program Manager & other members of CSC leadership to ensure compliance with the agency’s policies & procedures; maintain current and complete clinical records and participate in quality assurance reviews when assigned to ensure compliance with contracts and assists staff with preparing for audits.

    + Foster a professional culture that centers mutuality, empowerment, inclusion, and hope.

    + Collaborate with other leaders to promote a culture of safety and peer inclusion in decision making.

    + Act as a liaison between peer staff and leadership to ensure alignment with agency and state goals.

    + Represent the peer workforce in internal leadership meetings and external collaborations.

    Training & Development (20%)

    + Support facilitating of peer trainings on topics including but not limited to HCA peer skills, behavioral health crisis drills, crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, trauma informed care, peer services documentation, and causes and effects of homelessness essential to ensure the safety of clients and staff.

    + Support Certified Peer Counselors in transitioning to the Certified Peer Specialist credential by December 31, 2026.

    + Participate in and facilitate Peer Supervisor Training offered by the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA).

    Supervision & Support (25%)

    + Help oversee day to day CSC schedule for proper implementation, provide shift coverage as directed by CSC project managers.

    + Provide feedback to all staff in the moment and follow up with supervisor and managers.

    + Facilitate monthly group peer supervisions, ensuring integration of peer lens and unified messaging on areas of development and performance evaluation.

    + Provide strengths-based performance feedback and coaching.

    + Coordinate and participate in psychiatric consultation, program meetings, and in-service training of CSC program staff; participate in clinical reviews and case conferences helping staff implement the peer lens.

    + Assist with other facility management functions as assigned.

    + Peer Supervisor would ensure the coordination and implementation of individual supervision of the peers.

    Direct Client Engagement (15%)

    + Maintain a safe clinical environment through 1-1 and team-based de-escalations as needed.

    + Step into co-facilitate daily groups as needed.

    + Be present and available on the CSC stabilization and intensive case management units' day to day to engage with clients, coach & teach staff, and work in collaboration with Clinical Shift Supervisors.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Current Certified Peer certification from the Washington State Peer Counselor Training Program and eligible to obtain new Certified Peer Specialist credential through the Washington State Department of Health by July 1, 2025 or within 60 days of hire, pending availability of trainings.

    + Ability to meet Washington Department of Health requirements for registration as an Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) or any other superseding credential.

    + Completed Certified Peer Specialist Crisis Response course or ability to complete within 90 days of employment.

    + One or more years' experience in community based behavioral health services.

    + Ability to drive an agency or personal vehicle to conduct agency related business. A current Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record are required.

    + Lived experience as a consumer of behavioral health services (mental health and/or substance use treatment) or be the parent or legal guardian of a child who has received behavioral health services.

    + Flexibility to work occasional weekend or non-standard hours as required by program needs.

    + Strong understanding of peer support ethics, recovery-oriented practices, and behavioral health systems, with an ability to apply these principles in supervision and service delivery.

    + Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication, coaching, documentation, and conflict resolution.

    + Working knowledge of Washington State WACs, RCWs, and credentialing requirements for Certified Peer Counselors (CPC) and Certified Peer Specialists (CPS).

    + Commitment to anti-racist, trauma-informed, and equity-centered supervision and service practices.

    + Proven leadership skills, including the ability to foster cooperation across programs, support continuity of care, and demonstrate respect and compassion for clients/participants.

    + Experience and/or interest in program development, with the ability to collaborate on enhancements in partnership with supervisors, managers, and team members.

    + Openness to feedback and ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative and occasionally high-stress environment.

    + Skilled in group coordination and facilitation; able to use knowledge of recovery and peer support to lead or co-lead groups, and to train others in group facilitation techniques.

    + Strong crisis management capabilities, including the ability to consider each client’s individual goals, preferences, and context to inform and support recovery-focused responses.

    + Ability to support Peer Specialists in identifying and addressing unmet needs that may contribute to recurrent crises; familiarity with local community resources and effective referral practices.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document services and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

    + Experience working with adults who are experiencing or who have experienced homelessness, have mental health and/or substance use disorder(s).

    + Competence in working with clients who are difficult to engage and maintain in traditional mental health/substance use disorder programs.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + 2+ years of experience supervising or managing others in any workplace or volunteer setting.

    + 1+ years of experience implementing and coordinating programming, preferably in an integrated community behavioral health setting.

    + Undergraduate/graduate coursework / degree in social work, social services, psychology or like field.

    + Experience in crisis work.

    + Bi-lingual in a language other than English.

    Salary Description

    $90,063.60 - $101,927.52 annually
