Position Overview

The primary purpose of the Procurement Manager position is to: Direct and coordinate all activities with Associate buyers, Procurement buyers, and Procurement Supervisors to maintain contractual and/or company goals for all major accounts service levels and inventory levels. In addition, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing associates via continual coaching, recognizing successes for company, teams' and individuals' successes, and mentoring against KPI's (Key Performance Indicators); including service levels, turn weeks on hand, dead inventory, and salvage budgets. The Procurement Manager will direct the teams based on analytical data gathered from procurement tools and systems and from the shared service team members. The Procurement Manager will collaborate with the Account teams to drive change in ad processes with the customer to drive results in service and inventory. This includes identifying and adjusting to trends in the industry while supporting the fiscal objectives of the company.

+ Cross Functional Relationship Management: Manage processes and procedures with the Procurement buyers, customers, vendors, Transportation, and warehouse facilities to effectively manage service levels while achieving budgeted turn inventory levels. Critical thinking and problem solving for short-term and long-term resolution.

+ Employee Development & Corrective Actions: Train, coach, mentor, and provide clear expectations to Associate Procurement buyers, Procurement buyers, Procurement Supervisors, and Procurement Assistants in the daily procurement routine while providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.

+ Balancing Priorities & Time Management & Negotiations: Negotiate with vendors and customers to manage flow of inventory while balancing customer service level requirements; including, but not limited to, developing and implementing action plans on excessive and impaired inventories (e.g. close-coded, 888, leftover ad, dead).

+ Communication & Customer Service: Ensure current and future challenges are proactively analyzed and communicated to internal and external customers. Define, develop, and implement corrective actions. As recurring issues are identified, develop and implement sustainable solutions.

+ Analytics/Decision Making: Analyze reporting to manage day-to-day activities and seasonal trends as well as managing the job performance for team members.

+ Driver of Change: Develop presentations regarding KPI's for assigned customers and lead joint meetings as needed. Other meetings include suggested process changes by utilizing fact-based points to provide insight to the benefits for both companies.

+ Participate or lead special projects as assigned (e.g. new customer startups, realignment, SOP development).
