    GENERAL PURPOSE

As a member of the University of Rochester’s Annual Giving Program (AGP) team, the Assistant Director of Reunion Giving will work closely with the Associate Director of Class & Affinity Initiatives to design and implement a successful Reunion Giving program for the School of Arts & Sciences and the Hajim School of Engineering. With considerable latitude and room for independent judgment, this position will help develop and implement a strategic marketing plan in support of the institutional priority of increasing undergraduate alumni participation in giving through new and expanded strategies. This individual will collaborate with Advancement partners to manage reunion volunteer recruitment and activities, identify potential reunion donors, and design reunion-focused fundraising initiatives. This position requires the ability to effectively manage reunion gift volunteers, collaborate regularly with gift officers, and serve as a point of contact for AGP’s reunion-based strategies to ensure they are aligned closely with the engagement strategies defined by Alumni Relations.

    Reunion Class Gift Volunteer Management

+ Work closely with the Alumni Relations Reunion Programs team and Advancement colleagues to identify and recruit volunteers for 2-4 reunion committees particularly class gift volunteers who will champion their respective Reunion Gift Campaign.

+ Attend class committee meetings to provide reunion campaign goal updates and share information about upcoming reunion solicitations.

+ Meet with reunion class gift volunteers outside of committee meetings to set expectations and goals for their reunion campaign. When needed, request volunteers to review copy and be the signer(s) on targeted class solicitations.

+ Provide reunion class gift volunteers with class lists and opportunities for peer-to-peer solicitation outreach.

    Reunion Marketing & Communications

+ Work with the Associate Director of Class & Affinity Initiatives to review and modify all marketing materials to ensure emails, web pages, printed communications and collateral, and other promotional vehicles for reunion giving are relevant and effective.

+ Develop and execute phone, text, and social media strategies to promote reunion giving and engagement opportunities.

+ Explore and test new fundraising approaches and/or channels.

+ Control pictures, stats, graphs, tone, and information to be included in solicitations. Help with basic graphic design when needed and collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team for branded online, print, social media, and email marketing materials.

+ Maintain the Reunion portion of the overall Annual Giving Program’s solicitation calendar.

    Reunion Prospect Management

+ Work closely with Associate Director of Class & Affinity Initiatives to develop and track a pipeline process for assigned Reunion prospects.

+ Partner with Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, Regional Advancement, and George Eastman Circle gift officers to identify and engage reunion prospects.

+ Communicate regularly with gift officers to provide reunion campaign updates and assets to assist with prospect cultivation.

    Event Management & Support

+ Design, plan, and execute reunion giving-focused events (in-person or virtual) including Meliora Weekend activities.

+ Provide event support for class dinners and celebrations during Meliora Weekend, as needed.
