    The Department of Child, Family, & Population Health Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a **Mental Health Practitioner (PFR Provider).** This temporary hourly appointment, beginning as soon as possible or at the convenience of the employer and employee.

     

    The Mental Health Practitioner will be an integral part of the research study team for a federally-funded research project titled A Dyadic Approach to Perinatal Depression Treatment in Primary care a community-based program adapted to be delivered online through telehealth for women in their third trimester of pregnancy. The selected provider will deliver the Promoting First Relationships- BRIEF (six sessions) program to participants enrolled in the research study. The aim of the study is to test the effectiveness of Promoting First Relationships® -BRIEF in comparison to Usual Care to improve parenting, improve parents’ knowledge of social and emotional development, and reduce children’s social, emotional, and behavioral problems.

     

    **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Key Responsibilities:

    + Deliver the Promoting First Relationships® BRIEF intervention to mothers who are participating in the research study.

    + Maintain Fidelity to the PFR Model, which includes recording fidelity with each parent and an annual fidelity assessment.

    + Monitor and document each family’s progress in PFR using the PFR checklist.

    + Outreach and engagement of parents to provide PFR -BRIEF, includes scheduling appointments and documenting completed appointments and progress.

    + Utilize Zoom to provide PFR to families.Provide PFR to Assigned Caseload (90%)

    + Under general direction from the principal investigator and project director, the Mental Health Practitioner delivers the Promoting First Relationships® intervention to English speaking parents who are a part of the A Dyadic Approach to Perinatal Depression Treatment in Primary Care Study.

    + Keep careful documentation of each family’s progress in PFR, including but not limited to maintaining and returning paper documentation and notes, entering recording activities on the weekly checklist, update outreach and tracking weekly appointments.Outreach, engagement and support (10%)

    + Continual outreach to assigned families on caseload. Use non-punitive and strengths-based methods to engage challenging, vulnerable, and sometimes hard to reach families.

    + Identify and communicate about families who are at-risk of dropping out of intervention.

    + Participate in PFR supervision and research tracking meetings. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

    + Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related mental health, behavioral science or clinical field OR Bachelor’s degree AND three years of related work experience. **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**

    + Documented successful completion of Promoting First Relationships® training Level I and Level II.

    + Documented Fidelity from the Promoting First Relationships Program.

    + Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications. **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

    + Clinical experience providing services to families and/or their young children.

    + Infant and early childhood mental health background, training, or knowledge. **CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**

    + Access to reliable internet access is a condition of employment for the telehealth services.

    + Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet the scheduling needs of subjects.

    + PFR Level I and Level II Training.
