Clinical Documentation Integrity Manager Contract Days StaffFlex Central Florida Division

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Manager, under the supervision of the CDI Director, must have proven leadership and management skills that will promote effective and efficient review of physician documentation that supports the patient’s level of care and develop action plans for improvement. This role will oversee the review processes of complex patients that vary in age and have different developments in the acute and chronic disease states.

The CDI Manager will work extensively with CDI teams, physicians, and other interdisciplinary departments needed to coordinate the efficient review and accurate documentation capture (i.e.** **Quality Assurance, Revenue Integrity, Case Management) and all AdventHealth System corporate departments, including but not limited to, Office of Clinical Effectiveness, and Information Technology.

**Location:** Central Florida Division (Orlando, Children's, Altamonte, Apopka, Celebration, East Orlando, Kissimmee, Winter Garden, Winter Park).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains knowledge of all federal, state, and local documentation guidelines and communicates changes to all CDI staff; extensive knowledge of ICD 10 and coding guidelines.

• Audits documentation quality to support accurate statistics at the acute care facility level.

• Supports market quality initiatives by assisting in identification of opportunities for continuous growth and improvement.

• Track and trend performance to identify knowledge gaps/opportunities and develop individualized education to improve performance.

• Develops and implements performance improvement plans when appropriate and collaborates with Human Resources when needed.

• Utilizes appropriate platforms to generate and analyze data.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 5 years in acute care nurse setting

• Bachelor of Science in health care related field OR

• Associate of Science in Nursing with 10 years nursing experience

• International medical graduates (IMGs) must hold degrees from a medical school recognized by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG™) certificate eligible.

• 2 year CDI Specialist experience

• AdventHealth approved Annual competency score of ≥80%

• AdventHealth approved Pre-Hire assessment exam score of ≥70%

2 years of leadership experience

• 1 year coding experience

• 1 year retrospective CDI experience

• 1 year experience with Premier Health Quality Safety Review System (QSRS)

• CDI management or supervisory experience.

• Master of Science in Nursing.

• Current State Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Physician’s Assistant or MD.

+ CDI leadership experience

+ CCDS Certification

+ Experience with the following systems: Iodine, Iodine Interact, EPIC, 3M Solventum or Optum

+ Auditing experience

+ DRG Risk Validation experience
