    Education & Experience Requirements

    + High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing preferred.

    + Minimum **5+ years of experience** in a **data center or critical facility environment** .

    + Proven **leadership experience** managing teams of engineers or technicians in a high-availability setting.

    + Strong knowledge of **HVAC and electrical systems** , standards, and regulations.

    Licenses & Certifications

    + **EPA Universal Certification** (CFCs) required.

    + Additional certifications such as Journeyman or Master Electrician, High Pressure Boiler License, or Refrigeration Certificate of Fitness are a plus.

    + Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

    Key Responsibilities

    + **Lead and supervise** a team of Operating Engineers in a mission-critical data center environment.

    + Oversee the **operation, maintenance, and repair** of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

    + Ensure **compliance with safety protocols** , building codes, and regulatory standards.

    + Monitor and manage **Building Management Systems (BMS)** and **energy management systems** .

    + Conduct regular inspections of equipment including chillers, CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, and generators.

    + Respond to and resolve **emergency situations** and system failures with urgency and precision.

    + Implement and optimize **preventive maintenance programs** to ensure uptime and reliability.

    + Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.

    + Identify and execute **cost-saving opportunities** and operational improvements.

    Skills & Competencies

    + Strong leadership and team management skills in a high-pressure, 24/7 operational environment.

    + Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnostics of complex building systems.

    + Familiarity with smart technologies, tablets, and web-based maintenance platforms.

    + Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

    + Ability to lift 50 lbs., work in varying weather conditions, and respond to after-hours emergencies.

    Work Environment & Physical Demands

    + Operates in a professional data center and office environment.

    + Regular travel between facilities may be required.

    + Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
