    Role Definition

    The objective of the Disability Claims Specialist provides Total Rewards support to internal customers in support of the disability benefit. The role administers Total Rewards programs, collection, and submission of data for market surveys, supports the development of Total Rewards communications, and participates in Total Rewards related projects.

    What You Will Do

    + Administers Total Rewards, Disability Benefit, communicating with internal customers and partnering with external vendors

    + Analyze disability claim applications to determine benefits due to employee pursuant to Caterpillar Disability Plan(s) and per the utilization of case management guidelines

    + Participates in Total Rewards related projects, interacting with consultants and internal partners

    + Ensures compliance with the administration of Disability Benefit and manages employee data in line with company policies.

    + Participates in Total Rewards related projects, interacting with consultants and internal partners.

    What You Have

    + Basic medical understanding along with claims experience to intelligently discuss Disability Claims as required

    + Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

    + Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

    + Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

    + Benefits Programs: Knowledge of employee benefits programs, processes, issues and considerations; implement benefits programs.

    Additional Information:

    + Primary location: Peoria, IL

    + Candidate must be able to be in the office Monday – Friday during normal business hours

    + Travel Requirement: 10%-15%

    + Relocation will not be provided

    + Sponsorship will not be provided

    Summary Pay Range:

    $71,040.00 - $106,440.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
