Job Description
Good Shepherd Fairview Home is looking for a part time detail orientated Purchasing Clerk to join our team.
Schedule: Monday- Friday 9am-1pm= 20hrs/ week
Position Summary: Responsible for inventory levels, ordering & maintaining of various nursing department supplies. Works directly with the Director of Purchasing to create a preferred vendor list and in the procurement of bids and proposals for capital items. Responsible for the analysis of markets to determine vendor sources and product availability.
Purchasing Clerk Responsibilities:
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of supplies, Including Nursing Facility & Assisted Care Facility non-Rx supplies
- Price compare and place orders through the Smart PO system for weekly nursing supplies. Conduct follow up calls/emails with vendors to ensure timely receipt of supplies.
- Receive all orders t confirm items were received, put them away in central supply
- Maintain or update spreadsheets for PPE Reporting and ALR/ALP usage reporting to ensure east of use, accessibility and pricing accuracy.
-Receive items and invoices placed into Smart PO code with budget account number.
-Work closely with the nursing department and the Director of Purchasing to continuously seek savings through price, quality and standardization of products.
-Adheres to purchasing policies, processes and procedures. Assist the Director of Purchasing with purchasing policies and the Smart PO Software.
- Delivering supplies to departments as needed
- Various other duties assigned related to purchasing and receiving of supplies
Purchasing Clerk Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age. Ability to read, write and speak the English language
- Must have 2 years of related work experience.
