    Electrical Panel Assembler

     

    Department: Manufacturing / Operations / Quality

     

    Employment Type: Full Time

     

    Reporting To: Cory Frautschy

    Description

    The assembler will have a mix of duties including reading electrical schematics for the wiring of panels, cutting holes, and assembling electrical panels and boxes. The assembler will not only put these components together but will ultimately take part in the creation of our pump units to be distributed around the world.

    Key Responsibilities

    Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Franklin Electric Quality System.

     

    Responsible for the reading and interpretation of electrical schematics

     

    Use hand tools to cut, assemble, and piece together electrical boxes and panels

     

    Troubleshoot and wire electrical wiring both high and low voltage depending on panel requirements

     

    Responsible for the full assembly and testing of panels

     

    Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to continuously improve the assembly and production process to hit required quality, throughput, and aesthetic standard set by Franklin Electric

     

    Operates various workstations to complete assembly of scheduled parts.

     

    Responsible for the flexing and bending of wire using both hands and tools

     

    Responsible for the mounting, wiring, and some testing of assembled panels.

    Skills and Abilities

     

    Works with various hand and power tools such as drills, T-squares, hammers, lights, electrical tools, hydraulic/electric punchouts, jigsaws, sanders, screwdrivers, strippers, and crimpers.

     

    Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

     

    Read and lay out electrical schematics

     

    Provides accurate work on a consistent basis meeting precise tolerances and standards.

     

    Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.

     

    Ability to quickly perform basic math and measurements for the cutting and laying out of panels

     

    Ability to assemble, wire, and produce various electrical products safely, accurately, and with proper aesthetic

     

    Electrical/Mechanical Aptitude.

     

    Must have an eye for detail and proper aesthetic, as the product will be displayed to customers

     

    Education and Experience

     

    High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).

     

    1-5 years of experience in panel shop assembly and test (required)

     

    Experience reading electrical schematics (preferred)

     

    Experience and aptitude using hand tools (required)

     

    Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (preferred)

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include regular peripheral viewing; viewing length changes; close viewing with depth perception; and occasional distance viewing.

    • Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the need to perceive the spoken voice clearly and the need to hear warning signals up to 70dbs with or without assistance.

    • Specific speech abilities regularly required by this job include comprehensible speech.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    • This job consists of shift work up to 8 hours per day and may be required to work overtime as needed.
