    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Department’s Chairman and partnering with Faculty, the NYP Graduate Medical Education Office, and the Office of External Affairs, this role directs all aspects of education-related projects and initiatives for the Department.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Lead the strategic planning, execution and evaluation of academic programs, ensuring alignment with both departmental and institutional priorities and goals.

    + Collaborate closely with academic and clinical leaders, faculty and external stakeholders to develop and implement academic and training initiatives.

    + Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple academic programs, including recruitment, onboarding, trainee/student orientation, professional development and event management.

    + Manage the recruitment and admission processes, including organizing outreach, application reviews and candidate interviews.

    + Coordinate and facilitate major academic events such as scientific symposia, seminars, conferences and program milestone reviews.

    + Monitor trainee progress toward academic milestones, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and accrediting board requirements.

    + Work closely with the Department Chair and other senior leadership teams across the institution and affiliated organizations to support internal initiatives, strategic planning, presentations and additional tasks as required.

    + Oversee and facilitate the preparation of research grant applications, annual progress reports and financial reviews in collaboration with program leaders and institutional partners.

    + Lead program assessment and quality improvement efforts, gathering feedback from stakeholders to refine and enhance program delivery.

    + Serve as a liaison between program leaders and senior administration to ensure clear communication on program performance, outcomes and any challenges.

    Education

    + Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred

    Experience

    5+ years of experience in program management, preferably in an academic, medical or healthcare environment.

     

    Proven experience in overseeing large-scale academic programs, including management, faculty/staff coordination and resource allocation.

     

    Experience in recruitment, student affairs and academic operations.

     

    Strong background in managing cross-functional teams and leading strategic initiatives.

     

    Familiarity with regulatory, accreditation and compliance requirements in an academic healthcare setting.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Expertise in academic program management, including strategic planning, budgeting and resource allocation.

    + Strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership, faculty, students and external partners.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
