    Salary Range: $99,100.00 - $117,600.00

    Position Summary

    Oversees and directs the quality and patient safety program in accordance with Medical College policies; sets standards of performance and ensures conformance to various national, state and local laws and regulations. Integrates all regulatory requirements to provide a multidisciplinary patient care delivery system for enhanced quality management and performance improvement, corporate, billing, research, and HIPAA compliance, and residency fellowship education. Fosters research and academics by providing leadership with a variety of projects and initiatives, ensuring continuous advancement and development.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Assists clinical leadership in the development of quality and patient safety standards to improve processes and outcomes. Designs and enhances processes and systems to improve quality of care and directs teams in programmatic development.

    + Works collaboratively with other clinical departments to support interdisciplinary quality of care.

    + Reviews policies & procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Assists with the development of strategic plans to ensure integration of regulatory requirements into divisional goals & objectives.

    + Directly manages the quality division staff of coordinators and project managers. Hires, trains, conducts performance reviews, oversees professional development and corrective action plans.

    + Oversees and directs the implementation of the quality, patient safety and compliance programs. Works collaboratively with leadership to establish standards of clinical practice to meet patient care goals & attain compliance with regulatory requirements.

    + Oversees education of faculty and staff in policies and procedures designed to meet patient safety goals. Serves as content expert in patient safety and quality improvement.

    + Participates in various IRB-approved research projects; ensures compliance with project guidelines and ethical treatment of human subjects and publishes findings.

    + Plans, develops, directs, and implements written plans to ensure daily operations conform to regulations and quality initiatives for the department and sets standards of performance that conform to various national, state and local laws and regulations.

    + Prepares various administrative reports. Coordinates collection of information, preparation of reports and responses to external agencies.

    + Supervises the quality informatics program in the department. Provides leadership in the data management and reporting of quality metrics. Ensures effective communications and programmatic development.

    Education

    + Bachelor's Degree in related field

    Experience

    Minimum of 5 years management experience in health care administration, or experience in clinical affairs.

     

    Extensive knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, i.e. CMS, NYS Department of Health, Joint Commission.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Experience in database development and report writing; word processing and presentation software.

    + Strong leadership, communications and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
