    HOULIHAN’S

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    HOST/HOSTESS

    BASIC FUNCTION

    Greet guests when they enter the restaurant and assign seating.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

    a) Reports to: Houlihan’s Front of House Supervisor

     

    b) Supervises: N/A

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Obtain and return cash bank to Cage.

    + Balancing of reports on shift.

    + Clear, clean, and reset tables as needed.

    + Display buffet menu on board and seating signs.

    + Greet and seat guests.

    + Take reservations.

    + Direct waitstaff to their section.

    + Inform bus staff which tables to service.

    + Ring up guest’s checks.

    + Stocking of supplies.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

    + No formal education required.

    STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

    + Must be able to operate micros register.

    + Must be able to count currency.

    + Must be able to complete restaurant paperwork.

    + Possess good customer relations skills.

    + Possess good communication skills.

    MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    + Ability to speak clearly (talking)

    + Minimum of 18 years old.

    + Walking and stair climbing.

    + Standing for long periods of time.

    + Lifting to 20 lbs.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

    + Inside work.

    + Occasional work outdoors, subject to all weather conditions.

    + Currency handling.

    a) General office equipment including, but not limited to

    + Micros register

    + Adding machine (calculator)

    + Copy machine

    + Credit card machine

    + Telephone
