Job Overview
Fairview is hiring a Manager of Blood and Marrow Transplant Operations! This position is responsible for managing operations for the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at Fairview.
This individual is responsible for coordinating operations in the outpatient and inpatient setting with the BMT Program Office to assure processes, personnel and resources are in place to provide complete care coordination of patient's pre, peri, and post transplantation experience.
You will serve as a key member of the leadership team with a major emphasis on planning and implementation of policies, procedures and systems. Direct reports include operational, technical and clinical supervisors and may include other personnel.
Responsibilities include:
+ Assisting leadership in achieving coordination, consistency, efficiency, reliability and integration of programs needs within the larger care system; and initiates program enhancements that will improve quality of care and result in excellence in patient experience.
+ Facilitating project management, problem solving, and team collaboration. Regulates staffing in accordance with fluctuating workload.
+ Partnering in the support of the service line, staff recruitment, financial analysis, policy implementation, and serves as a primary resource for issues and communications.
+ Performing duties independently and initiates judgment in handling a variety of management issues.
Essential Functions:
Actively manages staff operations with accountability, on-going training, and recognizing opportunities for improvement.
+ Directly manages program operations including supervision of program leaders, hiring, staffing, providing feedback, promotions, assigning work, rewarding performance, hold staff accountable, providing work direction, training, reviewing performance, succession planning, modeling and recognizing expected performance.
+ Assesses professional development needs of the individual staff and program team and develops programs and/or provides resources to meet those needs.
+ Develops clear roles and accountabilities for staff within the program team.
+ Actively partners with the Director in staff development and engagement plans and Implements plans that will improve employee satisfaction and productivity
Identifies barriers to achievement of program performance measures and partners with Director to develop and execute improvement plans.
+ Partners to develop solutions and implement improvement plans to improve patient, provider, and staff engagement.
+ Data Driven - ability to use data, reporting and other tools to drive solutions, efficiencies and practices
+ Develops communication systems to provide information, obtain feedback and allow input from all stakeholders in decision making.
+ Collaborates with key clinical and non- clinical leaders in other departments/divisions to plan and promote strategies that enhance and improve outcomes, safety, services, improve coordination between departments/divisions, and promotes consistency of patient experience across care settings.
+ Leads ongoing performance improvement activities to gain efficiencies in program operations and reduces overall cost.
Directly manages staff to improve quality of care and increase patient centered care.
+ Participates proactively in resolving escalating patient issues by removing obstacles, resolving “bottle necks” and providing prompt, personalized patient care.
+ Empowers staff to resolve patient concerns and provide prompt, personalized remediation.
+ Anticipates staffing and skill needed to meet demands and improve patient centered care.
+ Initiates and implements plans to optimize work flow process.
Develops, implements and evaluates participation in the planning and documentation of patient care according to departmental policy and procedures.
+ Directs, facilitates and participates in the coordination of inpatient/outpatient/ancillary services and activities to insure continuity and consistency of patient care across the continuum.
+ Directs the development of care programs working in collaboration with leadership and operating units.
Develops, implements, and evaluates program operations policies, procedures, goals, and objectives with appropriate input from staff.
+ Works in collaboration and with the BMT Quality Manager to develops, implement and enforce departmental and hospital policies and procedures, as well as all applicable regulatory standards.
+ Provides clinical leadership for FACT and JC compliance teaming with the BMT Quality Manager and M Health Director of Regulatory and Compliance.
+ Partners with the BMT Quality Manager to educate staff regarding standards and compliance expectations. Conducts regular and ongoing assessments/audits to measure compliance. Identifies and addresses areas of non-compliance and needs for improvement.
Required Qualifications:
+ Active MN RN Licensure
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Advanced Practice Provider
+ Master’s Degree in Healthcare related field
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a healthcare setting with 2+ years of progressive management experience with strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines, i.e., physician, administrative, supervisory, and other allied health staff.

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within thisrange may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
