Water Treatment Supervisor

Overview
Ensures proper operation of wastewater treatment facility including control systems and water distribution systems. Day-to-day activities will also include start-up and shut-down activities and the regulation of the flow of water into and out of the treatment facility. Ensures compliance with all operational guidelines which also include federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities
+ Will supervise 2 or more employees. Will provide input regarding administration of personnel functions including selection and hiring, performance evaluations, and salary adjustments. Communicate objectives, assign tasks, and ensure that personnel receive all related work and safety related training. Maintain accurate and timely personnel records.
+ Ensures preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to, corrective actions are taken and any findings are appropriately documented and communicated to the applicable individuals.
+ Provide instruction to operators in proper test procedures, performs control tests and instructs operators on proper chemical mixture.
+ Collects a variety of water samples for analysis, process control, and regulatory compliance.
+ Report and take corrective action on any operational issues in a timely and effective manner. Communicate through appropriate channels any issues requiring special attention.
+ Provide daily inspection of plant conditions and report issues to Operations Management for daily group discussion. This includes monitoring and inspecting equipment operations to ensure that safe operating standards are followed and that strict cleanliness requirements are met.
+ May perform routine shipping, receiving, and inventory control functions. May be required to provide shift coverage for the operators.
+ Responsible for the proper maintenance, accuracy, and retention of documents.

Qualifications
Skills and Abilities
+ Knowledge and direct experience in wastewater processes and chemical processes a plus.
+ Ability to guide, direct and motivate people.
+ General computer knowledge and proficiency preferred.
+ Familiarity with SCADA or HMI control systems that control and monitor processes a plus.
+ Experience in Microsoft Office Excel

+ Must have regular and punctual attendance.
Physical Requirements
+ This position requires walking, standing, twisting, reaching, bending, climbing, and lifting.
+ Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60lbs.
+ Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience or equivalent is required. Experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred. A general understanding of water distribution system is preferred.Education: High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.
