Job Summary
The Program Executive - Family Programs provides executive level leadership for the association’s Family Programs and Sports and Recreation strategy for youth and adult sports and recreation programs. The Program Executive-Family Programs plans, designs, develops, implements and evaluates Family Programs and Adult Sports and Recreation leadership development programs, practices and systems to achieve organizational goals. This person designs, implements and evaluates best practices for hiring, training, onboarding, and coaching all staff in assigned areas in partnership with Y branches within YGS (YMCA of Greater Seattle). In addition, the Program Executive- Family Programs designs, implements and evaluates Family Programs and Sports and Recreation programs and services to achieve best practice and performance benchmarks. This is an executive level position responsible for strategic development and management of the Association’s youth and adult sports and recreation programs. As part of the Health and Social Services Center of Excellence the Program Executive - Family Programs will develop and align Association standardization, policy, procedure and practice for youth and adult sports programs and leagues. The Program Executive - Family Programs develops key relationships and partnerships in the community to advance mission and strategic direction of the YMCA of Greater Seattle.

Hiring Range: $86,000 - $92,000/year
Anticipated End Date: October 31, 2025.
Responsibilities
+ Supports – Youth & Family and Youth Sports program activities and expansion within the branches and the community in accordance with the Association strategic plan.
+ Supports and executes program and league standardization and protocols to ensure quality delivery and member experience.
+ Leads continuous improvement efforts to increase member satisfaction and impact scores.
+ Develops and implements systems, standard operating procedures, and tactics to advance strategy and organizational aspirations for the Sports and Recreation department.
+ Designs, implements and ensures best practices for hiring, training, onboarding, and coaching staff of all levels throughout the association in assigned areas.
+ Works within the community to develop partnerships with other community-based organizations such as school districts, youth and family serving agencies and sports and recreation providers.
+ Develops relationships with potential sponsors, funders and community leaders to advance the Y’s mission.
+ Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise assigned staff and volunteers in assigned areas including coaches and officials.
+ Assists in the development and distribute program information necessary to promote programs, in accordance with branch marketing plans.
+ Ensure that safety procedures are followed and that all programs are in compliance with YMCA, contract, accreditation, and all relevant regulations and other applicable standards.

Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in sports management, parks and recreation, social services or equivalent experience. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
+ 8 or more years of related experience, with 5 years of proven experience managing large sports and recreation departments.
+ 5 years of experience with staff and volunteer supervision, program development, and budget management.
+ High level of cultural competency to ensure quality and culturally appropriate programs are delivered to the branches across YMCA of Greater Seattle.
+ Experience with and knowledge of youth development and child abuse prevention.
+ Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
+ Ability to visit sites and community organizations.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
+ Master’s degree
+ Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
