Job Summary

The Senior Director, Distribution at Foodbuy will lead our top-tier distribution team in Charlotte, NC, driving the optimization of supply chain operations for maximum productivity and cost efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic distribution plans that align with corporate goals, ensuring flawless execution, continuous improvement, and exceptional client satisfaction.

This role requires strong strategic leadership, the ability to foster a collaborative team environment, and a focus on delivering results. You will be responsible for resource management, building strategic frameworks, and driving operational excellence with both new and established partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and execution of fiscal year plans, managing assigned distributors to support the overall distribution strategy and achieve key business outcomes.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to drive business goals and hold partners accountable for performance.

Formulate and align route-to-market strategies with corporate objectives, ensuring optimal distribution channels.

Drive the implementation of best practices in distribution, continuously improving operational efficiencies.

Develop and manage supplier relationships, providing executive-level reporting to ensure effective decision-making.

Identify and resolve operational challenges in collaboration with leadership teams, implementing scalable solutions.

Cultivate positive, productive relationships with key partners and stakeholders to promote collaboration and alignment.

Lead the negotiation and management of multiyear distribution agreements, ensuring favorable terms and sustainable partnerships.

Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies to continuously optimize distribution strategies and ensure supply chain continuity.

Act as a mentor and leader, developing talent, fostering a positive team culture, and exemplifying the values of Foodbuy.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of priorities and the continuous improvement of processes.

Address complex challenges in collaboration with department managers, driving innovative solutions.

Establish and implement team development strategies, creating clear career paths and training plans to develop future leaders.

Maintain a deep understanding of market dynamics to identify and capitalize on new commercial opportunities.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred.

7-9 years’ experience in business leadership, supply chain, distribution, or Foodbuy/Compass.

Proven strategic leadership and ability to drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and engage across levels of the organization.

Expertise in strategic distribution planning and vendor management.

Strong analytical skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

Demonstrated success in business planning, budget management, and financial forecasting.

Knowledge of contract management.

Professional presentation skills, with the ability to represent the company with external partners and clients.

Up to 25% travel annually.
