    Job Summary

    The Remote Medical Product Category Specialist will be responsible for reviewing new products to help determine if they align with our standard contracts and products formularies Once items are determined eligible for purchase then the role will manage and maintain accurate product data within our Oracle ERP system, specifically for medical surgical products. This role will focus on compliance with patient expense codes, including HCPCS, and will play a key role in price management related to purchase agreements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital supply chain management, buying, or surgical technology.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    + Maintain and update product information in the Oracle ERP system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

    + Create and manage product records, including descriptions, pricing, and related coding (HCPCS, etc.).

    + Manage purchase agreement pricing, ensuring execution of optimal pricing strategies that align with budgetary and financial goals.

    + Work with Supply Chain Category Sourcing to provide data necessary to negotiate favorable terms, prices, and conditions to align with supply chain standards.

    + Collaborate with supply chain teams to streamline product procurement, inventory management, and distribution processes.

    + Ensure that all products comply with supply chain standards and sourcing initiatives based on supplier negotiations.

    + Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and clinical staff, to ensure alignment on product specifications and requirements.

    + Communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers regarding product updates, coding changes, and compliance issues.

    + Provide training and support to staff on effective use of Oracle ERP for product data management and best practices.

    + Assist in the development of training materials and documentation.

    + Generate and analyze reports related to product data accuracy, usage statistics, and spend analysis.

    + Identify trends and present findings to management for decision-making.

    Preferred Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field.

    Required Experience:

    + Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in hospital supply chain management, purchasing, or surgical technology.

    + Proficiency in Oracle ERP or similar enterprise resource planning systems.

    + Strong knowledge of medical surgical products and patient expense coding systems, including HCPCS.

    + Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Experience:

    + Knowledge/experience with maintaining a CDM is preferred. Preferred experience in working with data quality, master data management and/or data governance within a global master data environment or familiarity working with Supply Chain processes and data, manufacturing or materials management.

    Preferred License/Registration/Certification:

    + Certification in Supply Chain Management (CSCP, CPP, etc.) is a plus.

    Computer Skills Required:

    Experienced and proficient in Microsoft Office Applications required. Experience with Google Suite a plus. Intermediate with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPS).
