**Description** :
The Lead Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for the on time and accurate shipping of inventory utilizing the operations in house system and is expected to continually improve the efficiency of the operation through effective use of people, systems, and equipment. This position is accountable for the development and motivation of employees to departmental objectives and company policies and procedures.
The Lead Shipping and Receiving Specialist will report directly to the Planning Supervisor. This position will have direct reports.
What you will be responsible for:
+ Direct subordinates in the daily operation of shipping functions for the Shipping Department.
+ Must be capable of training new hires, organizing workflow, identifying priorities and ensuring accuracy of shipments.
+ Ensures compliance of employees with corporate and departmental work policies and procedures.
+ Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and ensure all areas remain in ISO and corporate compliance.
+ Monitor and establish production levels in the shipping areas of the warehouse.
+ Establish and monitor employee development and cross training efforts.
+ Certified and trained properly in hazardous shipping according to all current IATA regulations, as well as familiar with International Shipping and Customs regulations.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
+ High School Diploma or GED required
+ Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
+ Previous experience in warehousing, handling inventory, and bar code equipment
+ Advanced computer skills necessary
+ Knowledge of online courier systems, and packaging machines
+ Able to obtain a forklift license
